Import notes for Saint Lucia
Before you buy
- The Customs Act limits the age of used vehicles by weight: up to 2 tonnes, no more than 5 years old; 2 to 3 tonnes, no more than 8 years; over 3 tonnes, no more than 10 years.
- Older vehicles need Cabinet approval. Returning residents may bring one older vehicle within 3 months of taking up residence.
- Saint Lucia drives on the left, so choose a right-hand drive car.
At the port
- Ask your customs broker for the full cost (duty, taxes and fees) of the exact car before you accept a quotation.
Documents to keep
- The official invoice from BE FORWARD, the bill of lading and the export certificate.
