Import notes for Suriname
Before you buy
- Used passenger cars older than 8 years and used buses older than 15 years may not be imported (State Decree 2006 no. 100).
- The only exceptions are cars that have belonged to a returning resident's household for more than two years, and collector cars over 25 years old.
- Suriname drives on the left, so choose a right-hand drive car.
At the port
- Ask your customs broker for the full cost (duty, taxes and fees) of the exact car before you accept a quotation.
Documents to keep
- The official invoice from BE FORWARD, the bill of lading and the export certificate.
